I have not posted on here in a long time. I will now try to write on this blog as much as I can. I have learned a lot since I got interested in politics. I have debated with liberals who believe the Republicans are similar to Nazis. This leads me to my topic today.
One of my college professors has recently called the gathering of Republicans at the Convention similar to convention held by Hitler. He believes that the Republicans are nationalists. (He forgets the other part of Nazism, which is SOCIALISM which seems to me more of a Democrat kind of thing.) He says that chanting “USA, USA, USA" is too extreme. Well I never thought that having some science of pride of country as bad thing. I am a proud American. As our country's history proves we have a lot to be proud for.
He gave the Nazi salute while chanting "USA, USA, USA" and fellow students laughed and looked at the man as he was making sense. I looked at him with disgust and disappointment. I was disappointed to here this in a class room that I pay so much to attend. I was disappointed that he had to go to such a length to show his hatred of those who disagree.
I asked him after class if he really thought this as fair. He looked at me almost stunned that someone questions his judgment. He then said that he doesn't think Republicans are Nazis (Whew, that’s a relief), but they have Nazi like tendencies. He said that it scares him and that he cannot think of anything scarier than this but Nazism. Do you want to know who scares him the most? Rudy Giuliani.
I think I can think of something scarier. I think the indoctrination at universities to get people to believe in such radical ways is a lot scarier. I think a Barack Obama presidency in a time like this is scary.
